McAfee MVISION Cloud was the first company to launch a CASB solution to secure business data in the cloud. Since then, Gartner has published several CASB market reports highlighting CASB’s important role in the adoption of the Enterprise Cloud. Gartner has named McAfee as leader for the fourth time in the Gartner 2020 Magic Quadrant for Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), which evaluates CASB vendors.

Cloud access security intermediaries have become an important part of any cloud security strategy. They help organizations manage cloud usage and protect sensitive data in the cloud. Security and risk managers who are concerned about the use of cloud computing in their organization should investigate the CASB.

In the fourth Magic Quadrant for Cloud Security Brokers, Gartner evaluated eight vendors that met the inclusion criteria. MVISION Cloud, part of the MVISION product family at McAfee, is recognized in the report as a leader for the fourth consecutive year. This year Gartner commissioned a very rigorous report entitled Magic Quadrant for Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) EDIT LINK, and they relied on a variety of materials, including vendor literature, to understand their product offerings:

  • Questionnaire – A questionnaire containing over 300 items and hundreds of pages of answers.
  • Finance – Detailed financial data of the company relating to CASB revenues
  • Documentation – Access to all product documentation
  • Customer Reviews – Gartner encourages customers to submit anonymous reviews through its peer review program. You can read them here.
  • Demo – Includes over 50 Gartner-defined applications to test the product’s capabilities.

In 2020, McAfee made several updates and additions to its solutions, including strengthening its position as an industry expert:

McAfee was also recognized in January 2020 as the only vendor recognized by Gartner Peer Insights Customer’s Choice for Cloud Access Security Brokers based on customer feedback and McAfee MVISION Cloud Reviews.
